Amusement Park Rabbit is a unit in NieR:Automata. Resembling a beefed-up Small Stubby with thematic attire, it spawns at a fixed level of 80, and is worth a default 18,000 XP.
Description[]
A machine lifeform that mimics the bronze statues of the amusement park. Donning a pair of rabbit ears, it attacks by flailing a trumpet.
Gameplay[]
- This unit is found in the Amusement Park front entrance, standing on top of the fountain in the middle of the area. It is displayed as an enemy on the mini-map, but cannot be locked onto while it is inert on difficulties where lock-on is available.
- It will usually drop a Machine Core and Powerup Part L on defeat, though it sometimes does not drop the latter. Because it respawns like a regular enemy, it is possible to get all three Part Ls needed to upgrade the Pods from just this enemy.
- To engage it in combat, the player must deal a set (very high) amount of damage to it. It still counts as a level 80 enemy in its inert state, so at low levels, it may take a very long time to wake up due to most attacks dealing 0 or 1 damage. It is best to use one of the Critical + weapons (Cypress Stick, Iron Pipe, Ancient Overlord, Fang of the Twins) along with Critical + and Taunt Up chips. When the statue says "Hey! Whaddya think you're doin' there!?", the player will know that they successfully woke it up.
Notes[]
- The Rabbit can still be taunted while inert; its head will not glow, but the hissing audio cue and "escaping steam" effect of the enemy entering its taunted state will still be visible around its head. This works with both A2's taunt move and flashing the Pod light at the Rabbit's head.
- In the initial release version of the game, it was possible to hack the Rabbit before it became active by hacking it while controlling one of the other machine lifeforms in the area. This was later patched out.
