"Retrieve the Confidential Intel" is a quest in NieR:Automata. The shady Resistance member in the city ruins tasks 2B and 9S to find three YoRHa-issue plug-in chips recently reported missing.

- Head to each marked area on the map and retrieve the plug-in chips.
- Give the chips to the Resistance Member.
- Meet him at the Housing Complex.
- Read the mail from the Commander titled "Search Order Annulment".
Quest log[]
- Help the Resistance member in the city ruins retrieve the plug-in chips with classified data. Secure the following items from the machine lifeforms:
- Plug-in chip: 3/3
- Deliver the plug-in chips to the Resistance member.
- After handing over the plug-in chips, the Resistance member seems happy, saying he'll introduce his family the next time you meet.
- It turns out the Resistance member was repairing broken YoRHa models and turning them into his new family.
- However, they were attacked and killed by machines...

Notes[]
- Choosing not to give the Resistance Member the chips merely halts quest progression. They must be handed over to proceed.
- It's implied that the Resistance member and the YoRHa android he repaired weren't actually killed by machines, but hunted down by YoRHa Executioner type androids and killed by them instead with the machines being a cover story.
